Project Terms
How we work together.
Clear terms, no surprises. Please read these before booking.
These terms apply to all website design projects carried out by Langley Park Web Design for UK small businesses. They outline how projects are delivered, payment structure, and what happens at each stage.
1. The deposit
A deposit of 50% of the agreed build fee is required before any work begins. This deposit secures your place in the project queue and confirms your booking. The deposit is non-refundable except where we are unable to deliver the project.
2. Supplying your materials
Once your deposit has been received, you have 14 days to supply all materials required to begin work. This includes your text content, images, logo, and any other details we have agreed are needed. We will confirm exactly what is required at the time of booking.
3. If you miss the 14-day deadline
If materials are not received within 14 days of your deposit being paid, your project slot will be released. To recommence the project you will need to pay a recommencement fee of £25 and supply all outstanding materials in full at the same time. Payment of the recommencement fee starts a fresh 14-day window. Work will begin once both the fee and all materials have been received. The recommencement fee is non-refundable.
4. Project abandonment
If we have not received your materials or heard from you within 3 months of your deposit being paid, the project will be considered abandoned. In this case your deposit will be retained in full and the project will be closed. No further work will be carried out and no refund will be issued.
5. The remaining balance
The remaining 50% of the agreed build fee is due on completion of the project, before the website goes live or files are handed over. We will issue an invoice at that stage with our bank details for payment by bank transfer.
6. Revisions
Reasonable revisions are included as part of the build process. Changes that fall outside the original agreed scope may be quoted for separately. We will always let you know before carrying out any work that would incur an additional charge.
7. Managed hosting
Where managed hosting is part of the arrangement, a minimum 12-month term applies from the date the website goes live. This reflects the reduced upfront cost of the website build. After the minimum term, hosting continues on a monthly basis and can be cancelled at any time with one month's notice. Hosting fees are invoiced monthly or annually depending on the option chosen.
8. Your content
You are responsible for ensuring that all content you supply to us is accurate, lawful, and does not infringe the rights of any third party. We are not liable for any claims arising from content supplied by you.
9. Ownership
You own the finished website in full. For managed hosting arrangements, all source files remain available to you on request. For file handover arrangements, all source files are provided on completion.
10. Late payment
Payment is due within 7 days of the invoice date. If payment is not received within 7 days, a reminder will be sent. After 30 days overdue, statutory interest will accrue at 8% above the Bank of England base rate under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts Act 1998. We reserve the right to suspend any hosted services until outstanding balances are cleared. Continued non-payment may result in permanent suspension of hosting and removal of the website from our servers.
11. Hosting suspension
Where we manage hosting on your behalf, failure to pay a hosting invoice within 30 days of the due date may result in your website being taken offline until payment is received. We will always attempt to contact you before taking this step. Reinstatement of hosting following suspension will incur a £15 administration fee.
